Sexting and Sex

By Erin Stewart, Monday, September 17, 2012 at 2:41 pm MST

I love when parents are shocked that their teens are sexting. Give a hot-blooded teenager a device to say whatever they want to whomever they want from the privacy of their bedroom and it really shouldn’t be a huge surprise … Continue reading»

Just one more second, honey (and other things moms say while texting)

By Erin Stewart, Monday, June 11, 2012 at 5:30 am MST

I vowed I wouldn’t become one of them. You know, the smartphone drones whose thumbs furiously fly on their screen while their child swings alone screaming, “Mommy, push me. Mommy. Mommy!” We’ve all seen them. We’ve all judged them. And … Continue reading»

Can you hear me now?

By Erin Stewart, Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 8:13 am MST

“You can’t really listen to me if you’re looking at your phone.” That’s a phrase you might hear maybe 10 times each day in our house. It usually comes after me trying to tell my husband something while he “uh-huhs” … Continue reading»

Dangerous driving

By Erin Stewart, Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 1:44 pm MST

I feel like I’m having more and more conversations with the tops of people’s heads. I’m not sure when it became acceptable to surf the Web or text on a cell phone the entire time someone is talking to you, … Continue reading»

Addicted to our phones

By Erin Stewart, Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 6:02 am MST

My husband got a Droid Incredible a week ago, meaning if you’ve seen him in the past seven days, he likely has a soft glow on his face and is looking up things on the Internet like what almond milk … Continue reading»

Texting teens

By Erin Stewart, Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 6:27 am MST

If I bump into one more teenager at the store or on the sidewalk who is texting while walking, I’m going to go into a blind rage right there and smash their phone. This is fair warning. Sure, I could … Continue reading»

About Me

I am a mother of two daughters: Nicole is almost 5 and Anne is 19 months. Every Tuesday I write the Just4Moms blog to discuss everything about my life as a mom — from stretch marks to the latest news for moms. I usually write while the kids or napping or doing swan dives off the back of the couch.

Three things I have learned about myself as a mother:

1. I am not perfect.
2. I will never be perfect.
3. Nobody else is either.

Happy reading -- and mothering!
