Lonely moms

I don’t know how single moms do it.

My husband has been gone for three days, and I’ve been taking care of our 2-year-old daughter by myself. I admit it’s pathetic that I only have one kid and I’m exhausted and can’t wait for my husband to return to help me.

I honestly don’t know how single moms, or even moms whose husbands are away from a home often, do it. My own mom raised three daughters while my father was away on business trips much of the time. Looking back, I’m in awe of her strength.

Perhaps I’ve been too spoiled by my husband’s willingness to help and the fact that he’s a teacher who doesn’t often travel.

So I’d love to hear from some of you moms out there who might be single, whose husbands travel, whose spouses are in the military or who have husbands that just don’t help with the kids.

How do you do it? Where do you get your strength? Any tips for other moms who may be struggling to raise a family on their own?
