Picking up moms
I found myself shamelessly hitting on another mom at the park this week.
Oh, don’t act like you haven’t done it.
We made small talk, I asked where she was from and by the end of the conversation I scored — I got a phone number.
As a stay-at-home mom, building up a network of other stay-at-home moms that you can hang out with under the guise of a playdate (aka eating chocolate and gossiping on the couch while the kids run wild in the backyard) is crucial to survival.
So when I see a mom about my age at my neighborhood park that looks like she might be a prime candidate for a playdate friend, you can bet I’m going to get her number.
I’m lucky that I have a good group of stay-at-home mom friends that I can hang out with when both my daughter and I need a break from each other. One of my friends and I even have a scheduled Thursday playdate with our 2-year-old daughters and we take turns planning the activity each time.
Do you have a network of mommy friends you can count on? How did you find them and what kind of activities do you do together?
