The phrase strikes fear into any well-intentioned mom. It’s a phrase that often leaves me in the fetal position on the floor amid a pile of instructions on how to bake anything using only wheat and siphon lake water through a straw.
But this week I actually got over the paralysis I feel when I hear about stocking up a three-month supply and a longer-term food storage. I stocked up on flour, sugar and other powdered essentials and now just need to learn how to cook something that doesn’t say Duncan Hines on it.
I’ll get there. Hey, it has to come one step at a time.
How do you tackle your food storage? Any tips for getting started or actually using the food before it expires?
(If you’re in the Utah area, Maceys grocery store is having a sale on food storage/bulk items this week.)
