Twirling and shaking
Some friends and I went to an aerobic dance class this weekend with a different spin – down a pole to be exact.
We ventured out leaving the dads with the babies to a pole- dancing class where we learned to shake our hips and slide down a brass pole with style.
Now I know all you feminists out there are cringing, but I have to say I haven’t felt so feminine in quite some time.
Now I’m not saying we looked like pros. Let’s just say Beyonce won’t be recruiting us for her next music video anytime soon.
But after two years of pregnancy, stretch marks and breastfeeding, it was nice to feel like a woman again instead of just a mom. And I discovered that I’m still sexy and can do a mean fireman pole twirl.
I left the class feeling strong, confident and very sore – pole dancing takes more muscle than you’d think.
So thanks to the ladies at Salt Lake’s own Studio Soiree for the chance to appreciate my body once again.
