Valentine's Day pressure

I have to admit, Valentine’s Day is not for me.

Yes, I know, some women out there just love Cupid’s holiday. They love the roses and the chocolates and the whole feel of love in the air.

For me, though, I just feel like there’s too much pressure. Too much pressure to have a hot date. Too much pressure to be lovey dovey. And way too much pressure to go home that night and do what any hot-blooded couple is expected to do on Valentine’s Day.

I confess, I crumble under the pressure almost every year.

OK, it’s not that bad, but I really am not into the whole Valentine’s Day racket.

So my husband and I generally stay home on Valentine’s Day. We don’t desperately hunt for a baby sitter or go to a 3 p.m. dinner because that was the only reservation time left. I like a night out as much as the next mom, but I’ll leave the crowds and the V-Day expectations to someone else who can really appreciate it.

What do you and your husband do on Valentine’s Day? Do you get into the holiday?
